Portrait Shots for a Tailoring Business

Last week, I had the pleasure of doing a professional headshot and portrait session for a client who is launching her own tailoring business. The session took place in a studio located in White Rock, BC.

The subject of the session, a talented tailor, brought her own scissors and wore three suits of her own design as props. The scissors added a unique touch to the photos and showcased her expertise and dedication to her craft. The suits highlighted her design skills and gave her a professional and polished appearance.

I used one external drive with a softbox and natural light from the main window to capture the photos. While there weren’t any significant challenges during the session, the location was a bit of a trek. We had to ride buses and trains for two hours to get to the studio. However, the journey was worth it as the studio provided the perfect backdrop for the photos.

 

 

After the session, I used Lightroom to edit the photos. I did a bit of skin softening and used some of the tools inside Lightroom to enhance the colors and tones in the images.

My client was thrilled with the final photos and I’m excited to share some of them with you.

 

If you’re considering booking a similar photo session, my advice is to be aware of the props you bring. It’s always good to have many options, even if you don’t end up using them all. Props can add an extra layer of personality and interest to the photos.

 

Overall, it was a great session and I’m grateful to have had the opportunity to work with such a talented and dedicated entrepreneur. I wish her all the best in her new business venture!
